AllStar How‑To: RI DIGITAL LINK Hub
Do not link other networks or permanent systems to RI DIGITAL LINK without express permission from a control operator.
AllStarLink is an amateur‑radio VoIP network that links repeaters, remote bases, and personal nodes over the internet using standard FM radios and Linux‑based servers. RI DIGITAL LINK uses AllStar as its core hub, tying together the Quahog analog repeaters and multiple digital bridges, including DMR 31444, XLX DCS059A, YSF, P25, NXDN, IRLP, and more.
This page provides a concise overview of how to reach RI DIGITAL LINK’s AllStar hub node from a local repeater, your own node, or a supported app, and includes a downloadable PDF with full step‑by‑step instructions.
-
From an AllStar‑enabled repeater: Use the standard connect command
*3NNNNNand disconnect with*1NNNNN, replacingNNNNNwith the RI DIGITAL LINK hub node number shown on the front page. -
From your own node: Send the same commands from RF (DTMF) or from your node’s console or web UI while your node is registered and online.
-
From apps and soft clients: Connect the app to your own AllStar node, then use its DTMF pad to link to the RI DIGITAL LINK hub with
*3NNNNNand disconnect with*1NNNNN.
Always leave 3–4 seconds between overs so all linked RF and digital paths can reset cleanly and to prevent clipped audio
